Our New Scale-up Programme
Exciting News!
We were thrilled to announce our new West/Northwest International Scaleup Programme in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland and launched by Minister of State in the department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Dara Calleary on September 27th.
The Programme aims to increase the number of successful Irish-founded companies overseas to grow their business in a chosen foreign market.
What’s in store for you?
A unique 12-week, professionally accredited program tailor-made for CEOs, Founders, and CFOs. Ideal for businesses eager to scale globally.
The journey begins in late October, and spots are limited.

Manchester Calling
Excitement is building!
This month we had an exclusive “Manchester Calling” webinar event where we gained invaluable insights on growing your business into the UK Market.
The seminar was held by guest speaker Susana Córdoba, Head of International Trade, Greater Manchester Chamber, UK. Susana was able to provide an overview of the business ecosystem in Manchester and NW UK and discuss Manchester Chamber offerings to West of Ireland Companies looking to break into the UK market.

Medical Technology Ireland Exhibition
Some of our members exhibited recently at the Medical Technology Ireland Exhibition in Galway – We were delighted to visit the Medscan 3D / 3D Technology stand and meet some of their staff above. Also Exhibiting at the conference were Keltie, Expleo and Ash Vision. We also heard Tom Kelly Director of Life Sciences @Enterprise Ireland give an excellent presentation on the supports available to start-ups and scaling companies in the Region.
Connacht Rugby with Platform94 / Career Development Center
During September we had the pleasure of welcoming Connacht Rugby senior players to Platform94.
It was a pleasure to showcase our Hub as a centre of excellence for Tech businesses in the West of Ireland.
Thanks to Deirdre Lyons for arranging the meetup and to Flynn O’Driscoll Chipright Buymedia, Expleo Group, RugbySmarts Precision Sports Technology and VorTech Water Solutions for speaking to our visitors and sharing similarities between the business and sporting worlds.
During the month we were also delighted to showcase Platform94 and some of our members at the University of Galway Career Development Centre Careers Fair at the Bailey Allen Hall.
Everyone was invited to call over to us at our Stand In the foyer to meet some of the companies that are hiring such as VorTech Water Solutions, Expleo Group, Buymedia, Chipright, and Maverick Engineering.

Tech PR Insights – Scaling Strategies for Success
Beachhut PR and City Swift.
On the 28th of September, there was a full house here at Platform 94 in our new state of art Boardroom in our new Extension. We were delighted to host a presentation from BEACHHUT PR as part of the Innovation Exchange programme. The theme of the talk was Tech PR Insights: Scaling Strategies for Success. The presentation was brought to us by BEACHHUT PR, speakers Eve McSweeney (Senior Account Executive), Andie Cooper (Account Manager), and the company’s CEO, Paul Hayes. Beachhut explained the benefits of when scaling a company internationally how PR can help with lead generation, fundraising and supporting a company’s growth in the tech sector.
CEO of CitySwift, Brian O’Rourke, spoke about his company’s journey and explained the importance of moving and expanding early and PR’s importance to CitySwift. Key to their growth was forging relationships with the media and contributing articles to the specific industry publications. He also discussed the importance of knowing your environment when moving to a new region.
Bank at Work with BOI
We are delighted to announce and Welcome Bank of Ireland on board as the Official Banking Partner to Platform 94.
One of the key benefits from this exciting new partnership is monthly Bank at Work Clinics, where BOI staff will bring banking to our workplace here at Platform94. The service is available to all staff of all Platform94 companies (on-site, hot desk or virtual).
Experienced BOI staff can be met in person or virtual to discuss a range of banking needs (both personal and company) including savings, home/life insurance, budgeting, mortgages, pensions, personal/car loans, credit cards, account opening etc.

JOB NEWS
Did you know at the moment there are a total of 112 job openings within different companies based in Platform94. Galway is a fast growing tech location, it has an expanding community of employers who are very locally engaged, and that is very true of our members here at Platform94. In the past week we have seen job announcements from large companies based in Galway; such as HPE, but there are many opportunities at smaller Indigenous SME’s. These SME’s make up the majority of our 40+ member companies located here in Platform94. The benefits of working for a smaller SME with more flexibility, responsibility and exposure to varied projects is often overlooked by jobseekers. There are over 110 open job roles presently amongst our companies. Members such as Centripetal, Expleo, Chipright, Plannet2, Maverick EV Services, Hillwalk Tours, Buymedia and Vortech Water Solutions are a some of our clients currently recruiting. Some of the job openings include roles in CyberSecurity, Civil, Mechanical, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Project managers, Quantity Surveyors, Life Sciences, Marketing and Data Analytics. This last month we have hired two new staff members to our team here at Platform 94. On the left is John Kirby who is our new Marketing Intern, and on the right we have Fiona Guiney who is our new Community Associate. We are delighted to welcome them to our team!
